Bachelor Mania

Mondays at 7pm central time is known for the very popular love show: The Bachelor. This show consists of one male choosing his true love out of 33 women. This very attractive and model-like male takes female after female on extravagant dates and adventures, hoping to see if she will be “the one.” At the end of each season, the bachelor chooses between two women to be his future wife. While it causes many tears and heartbreak fans have become addicted to this love show.

The Bachelor, among many other popular shows, has become the most-watched show over the years. Due to it’s popularity, ABC has added other shows to branch off from the original. The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise have added to the collection, creating an even bigger fan base. These shows have become so popular that fans have created multiple different activities to do while watching the show. Fans will hold parties of teams, rooting for a different girl or boy.

Watching shows can get lazy and create unneeded downtime, but fans have created a new way to watch the dramatic show and stay fit, called viewing parties. Everytime host, Chris Harrison, says “This is the most shocking news ever” fans will do 10 burpees. Each time a male or female says, “I think I’m falling in love” the viewers have to do 10 sit-ups. Other viewing parties are rooting for who they think will win, creating a fantasy league like viewers will do for football teams.

The fantasy league has been created to create a competitive environment to cheer on each contestant during the show. ABC was the organizer for the new fantasy league where fans can choose who the final rose is, the final four home dates, or fans can guess what will happen each week.
Due to all these new games and competitions created for the show, fans have become even more hooked. “Unlike other people, I think girls shouldn’t throw themselves at a boy, the universe should choose our love,” says, senior, AnnaGrace Molinari. While on the other hand fan, Gracie Wilson, says, “I love laughing at all the drama and seeing who the final rose goes to!” With different perspectives it has brought even more viewers and fans onto what many people already adore… “true love.”
